SHE finds her resting place

Growing up I loved to sit in my Dad’s lap. Most of the time it didn’t really have some reason behind it expect for the fact that I just wanted to be next to him.

I could usually find him in the living room watching some western or soccer game.

In his lap I felt safe. We rarely spoke during those times. But it wasn’t necessary.

Now I’m too big to sit in my Dad’s lap. The closest I can get is curling up next to him on the couch and resting my head on his shoulder and intertwining my arms in his as we probably watch a soccer game or old western.

As a child of God, sometimes we just need to sit in God’s lap. No words need to be exchanged.

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” | Romans‬ ‭8:26

He just wants us to be close to Him. He wants to spend time with us. At times it is to hear His voice better. Other times it’s to have peace.

Life can become so chaotic that we'll often walk or race past this resting place, even though we known we're tired. He knows when we get tired and that's the beauty of His character. He is omnipresent, everywhere at the same time. He's right where we fall or stumble from fatigue, still asking us to just sit and lay a while in His lap...and just rest.

Whatever your reason, take some time to spend with your Heavenly Father...He wants to spend time with you.
